Hi,
We currently use VFP to write code that uses an ODBC connection to move data
from DB/2 to SQL Server, and vice-versa. We have been asked to research wh
ether using ADO instead of ODBC would give us quicker results. I'm not sure
where to begin looking for
this sort of information. I can only find fairly vague references to ADO.
Does anyone know of white papers that would compare these two data connectio
n options, or that would tell me more about both SQL ADO, and (I assume I'd
need) information about iS
eries/DB2 ADO?Performance is one of those dicey questions that doesn't have a clear
answer because there are so many variables. I think the only way
you'll have a clear answer is to set up a test bed in your environment
with some sample data and try it both ways.
