ADO vs. ODBC

Hi,
We currently use VFP to write code that uses an ODBC connection to move data from DB/2 to SQL Server, and vice-versa. We have been asked to research whether using ADO instead of ODBC would give us quicker results. I'm not sure where to begin looking for
this sort of information. I can only find fairly vague references to ADO. Does anyone know of white papers that would compare these two data connection options, or that would tell me more about both SQL ADO, and (I assume I'd need) information about iS
eries/DB2 ADO?
Performance is one of those dicey questions that doesn't have a clear
answer because there are so many variables. I think the only way
you'll have a clear answer is to set up a test bed in your environment
with some sample data and try it both ways.
