ADO.NET 2.0 and SQL 2003

Will ADO.NET 2.0 connect to MS SQL 2003 ? From within VWD Express ?SQL 2003? There is no such thing. There is SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005. ADO.NET 2.0 can connect to either one.
